3 most important characteristics of a CONSCIOUS LEADER

1. Crystal clear values

When it comes to values, the conscious leader has no doubt about their beliefs, what they stand for, what they don’t tolerate and which ones they praise and encourage. It requires a mental clarity, structure huge self-awareness. These are solid values, which do not change overnight. Great conscious leaders naturally transmit their values continually through their actions, their decision-making process, their way of behaving and communicating.

If you work with them, you know that there’s no room for messing around, what is important today will continue to be tomorrow, you know exactly what to expect.

2. Not acting on gut feeling

It doesn’t mean that they never lose their temper or act impulsively, but the majority of the time when they take decisions it’s a never just a quick response to the situation. They know what works and what doesn’t in people management. They apply their own effective people management practices, not improvising and inventing a new method every day.

Since they have a deep understanding of people’s and group dynamics, when they have to deal with complex situations, they do not get carried away by heated emotions.

3. Self-confident

Conscious leaders trust themselves, they know they are not perfect, they know exactly where their improvement areas lie, but they don’t feel bad about it and especially they don’t feel the need to overcompensate for them. They don’t feel threatened by other people’s talents and opinions, quite the opposite, they like to be challenged and inspired by other people.

They have that unquestionable conviction that they are meant to lead people, it’s just part of their nature.

They learn from their mistakes by and self-reflecting, not being afraid to say sorry. Most importantly, they put conscious mental mechanisms in place to avoid making the same mistakes in the future.

When you see them leading their team meeting, or giving a speech, they seem to be in their element, it flows, no unnecessary authority plays a part. Listening to them you feel emotionally secure and inspired to be a better version of yourself.
